iNaturalist Lab
The purpose of today's lab was to use and feel comfortable with the iNaturalist App and to learn how to observe and document different species that are seen around the campus. Today, I registered and learned to navigate through the iNaturalist App. I went outside and explored the campus with the many different types of species around Notre Dame of Maryland University. I spent about an hour and a half outside to observe the different living things around the college. I was fascinated to see the many different types of plants and animals that came into view. The most interesting organism I observed was this flying bug, that was bright red and orange. It moved around like a firefly and seemed very territorial when my partner and I approached it. I didn't get a chance to take a picture, but I wonder what its scientific name is. In my write-up, I will submit the pictures with the taxonomy as soon as it's confirmed. When I have that confirmation, I will also write detailed information about each organism.
